Proverbs 31:15-8

S- Proverbs 31:15-18 15 She gets up while it is still night. She provides food for her family. She also gives some to her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it. She uses some of the money she earns to plant a vineyard. 17 She gets ready to work hard. Her arms are strong. 18 She sees that her trading earns a lot of money. Her lamp doesn’t go out at night (NIRV). Proverbs 31:15-18 15 She rises while it is yet night and gets [spiritual] food for her household and assigns her maids their tasks. 16 She considers a [new] field before she buys or accepts it [expanding prudently and not courting neglect of her present duties by assuming other duties]; with her savings [of time and strength] she plants fruitful vines in her vineyard. 17 She girds herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] and makes her arms strong and firm. 18 She tastes and sees that her gain from work [with and for God] is good; her lamp goes not out, but it burns on continually through the night [of trouble, privation, or sorrow, warning away fear, doubt, and distrust] (AMP).

O- The virtuous woman gets up early in the morning to prepare breakfast for her family. She does not jump into things. She is patient, cautious, and prayerful. She does not make spend the family’s extra money on frivolous pleasures for herself and she invests wisely. She works hard and her family benefits. This woman works vigorously and she doesn’t shy away from hard work. verse 18 says her lamp does not go out at night.

A- The earliest I get up sometimes is 9am so I know that is not early. I am learning not to jump into things too quickly. I have to work on being patient. I do need to invest my money wisely because I have overdone it with giving the landlord all the money from my student loan because I ended up not having enough money to pay all the bills. I do work hard and will my family benefit that will remain to be seen? I don’t shy away from hard work. I do tend to stay up later because my anxiety levels during the day tend to be high.

K- Lord, help me to be more patient with my boyfriend I know at times I get frustrated with this man because I wish that he could get rid of his bad language and temper. Also help me to invest my student loan wisely, and not to give the landlord all of the money I get back, but to divide it on the household bills. Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Lord, continue to mold me into the woman of God that you have called me to be.

Proverbs 31

Well for the Good Morning Girls Bible Study we are going into depth with Proverbs 31and I am a little behind because Monday was Proverbs 31:1-14, but for that day I will not SOAK all thirteen verses Friday and Saturday I will come back with more verses from Proverbs 31 I am now just catching up. If you do not know what SOAK means It is Scripture Observation Application and Kneeling. To see a full demonstration of how this is done go to womenlivingwell.org and Cortnie Joseph will show you how to do it.

S- Proverbs 31:10-14 10 Who can find an excellent woman. She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband trusts her completely. She gives him all the important things he needs. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She chooses wool and flax. She loves to work with her hands. 14 She is like the ships of traders. She brings her food from far away (NIRV). Proverbs 31:10-14 10 A capable, intelligent, and [a]virtuous woman—who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls. 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of [honest] gain or need of [dishonest] spoil. 12 She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life within her. 13 She seeks out wool and flax and works with willing hands [to develop it]. 14 She is like the merchant ships loaded with foodstuffs; she brings her household’s food from a far [country](NIRV).

O- A woman is a ruby to her husband. The husband is suppose to trust her completely. She does not harm him. Her husband trusts her completely. She shops wisely for the things that she needs and doesn’t spend it on things that are not needed.

A- I will always continue to be in the Word of God. As far as emotions with the help of God I am getting better at keeping my emotions in check. As Cortnie Joseph proposes in her book Proverbs 31that as a Christian wife we are not to talk bad about our husbands behind their back I know at times I have been guilty of this because I have talked behind my boyfriend’s back, and with the Lord’s help I will overcome this. I will continue to do good to my boyfriend which this area when I say I am going to be good to him I just do it. I do need to learn to slow down because I do not rest as I should. As far as shopping goes I do like cooking from scratch I do it for myself because my boyfriend doesn’t eat everything I cook.

K- Lord, continue to help me keep my emotions in check. Also help me not to let a bad word come out of my mouth about my boyfriend behind his back. Also help me to rest and not overdo it. Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Lord, continue to mold me into the woman of God that you have called me to be.

Proverbs 30

S- Proverbs 30:7-9 Lord, I ask you for two things. Don’t refuse me before I die. Keep lies far away from me. Don’t make me either poor or rich, but give me only the bread I need each day. If you don’t, I might have too much. Then I might say I don’t know you. I might say, ‘Who is the Lord?’ Or I might become poor and steal. Then I would bring shame to the name of my God (NIRV). Proverbs 30:7-9 Two things have I asked of You [O Lord]; deny them not to me before I die: Remove far from me falsehood and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, Lest I be full and deny You and say, Who is the Lord? Or lest I be poor and steal, and so profane the name of my God (AMP).

O- Agur wisely prayed for a middle state, that he might be kept at a distance from temptations; he asked daily bread suited to his station, his family, and his real good. There is a remarkable similarity between this prayer and several clauses of the Lord’s prayer. If we are removed from vanity and lies; if we are interested in the pardoning love of Christ, and have him for our portion; if we walk with God, then we shall have all we can ask or think, as to spiritual things. When we consider how those who have abundance are prone to abuse the gift, and what it is to suffer want, Agur’s prayer will ever be found a wise one, though seldom offered. Food convenient; what is so for one, may not be so for another; but we may be sure that our heavenly Father will supply all our need, and not suffer us to want anything good for us; and why should we wish for more?
A- I need to continue to pray to the Lord to keep me at a safe distance away from temptations. I need to continue to walk with God.

K- Lord, help me to continue to pray to you and keep me at a safe distance away from temptations. Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Lord, thank you for helping me with my temper, and mold me into the woman of God that you have called me to be.

Proverbs 29

S- Proverbs 29:8 ,22Those who make fun of others stir up a city. But wise people turn anger away (NIRV). Proverbs 29:22 22 An angry person stirs up fights. And a person with a bad temper commits many sins (NIRV). Proverbs 29:8  Scoffers set a city afire [inflaming the minds of the people], but wise men turn away wrath (AMP). Proverbs 29:22 22 A man of wrath stirs up strife, and a man given to anger commits and causes much transgression (AMP).

O- Matthew Henry’s commentary:The scornful mock at things sacred and serious. Men who promote religion, which is true wisdom, turn away the wrath of God. An angry, passionate disposition makes men provoking to one another, and provoking to God.

A- I know that no matter how devoted to the Lord I may be mocked for it, but I will stand firm in my beliefs. I also need to not stir up fights, but to learn to keep my mouth shut.

K- Lord, help me to remember that if I am mocked for what I believe in that I need to stand firm in you. Help me learn to keep my mouth shut. Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Lord, thank you for helping me with my temper, and mold me into the woman of God that you have created me to be.

A Bride At Last by Melissa Jagears

Today I am reviewing A Bride At Last by Melissa Jagears. This story starts out with a woman named Kate Dawson who we find her wringing out the mop water at her school where she is teaching, and Anthony Riverton is rushing down the hallway in a panic saying I know it she is going to die tonight. Lucinda who is Anthony’s mom wrote to her husband Silas Jonesy who we find out is Anthony’s father, and he is coming to take Anthony home. Kate isn’t so sure about him because Lucinda told her horrible things about Silas. We also see that Richard Fitzgerald comes along to try and claim the boy because the boy’s mother was his mistress. The two fathers are fighting to see who gets to take care of the little boy.

This story started out slow, but once the plot picked up it was really good because the romance in the book was an old fashioned kind of love that they came together slowly, and there was a lot of troubles for them along the way because she did not want to marry for convenience she wanted to marry because she was in love with the person. I really loved this book because it reminded me of how love should start out not boy meets girl and then they live happily ever after. Instead the story goes through all the troubles along the way to show how each of them blossomed along the way to end up finding each other. I would definitely recommended this book to anyone because it is not a trashy romance novel, but a well thought out plot that is clean, and has you wondering what is going to happen to Kate Dawson and Silas Jonesy. They don’t tell you answer that question until the end. I received this book from Bethany House Publishing in exchange for my honest review of this book.

Summary of Psalm 119:121-144

Here is my summary from Week 6 for Love God Greatly

First, I need to ask the Lord for understanding and discernment to do what was right. I know that we are living in a time where there is a lot of wickedness, but I am going to continue to serve the Lord, and not compromise my beliefs. Like David I need to not pick and choose what commandments of the Lord I need to follow, but I need to follow all the Lord’s commands.

Second, I will continue to walk in the ways of the Lord so I will continue to walk the narrow path in my life. I will continue to store up the word of God in my heart.

Third, I need to rely on the Lord to teach me how to live and to not sin be my master. I need to let the Lord teach me how to live.

Finally, I need to continue to serve the Lord with my whole heart, and remember that the word of God is the only thing that can judge our righteousness. Even though I have had my fair share of trouble and suffering I need to continue to serve the Lord, and not let my faith waver from the Lord.

Psalm 119:141-143

S- Psalm 119:141-143 141 I’m not important. People look down on me. But I don’t forget to obey your rules. 142 You always do what is right. And your law is true. 143 I’ve had my share of trouble and suffering. But your commands give me delight (NIRV). Psalm 119:141-143 141 I am small (insignificant) and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts. 142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth. 143 Trouble and anguish have found and taken hold on me, yet Your commandments are my delight (AMP).

O- David served the Lord with his whole heart. The word of God is the only thing that can judge our righteousness. David had his fair share of trouble and suffering, but through it all he continued to serve the Lord, and he did not let his faith waver from the Lord.

A- I need to continue to serve the Lord with my whole heart, and remember that the word of God is the only thing that can judge our righteousness. Even though I have had my fair share of trouble and suffering I need to continue to serve the Lord, and not let my faith waver from the Lord.

P- Lord, help me to continue to serve you with my whole heart, and to remember that your word is the only thing that can judge our righteousness. Lord, even when I have my fair share of troubles and suffering help me to continue to serve the Lord, and help me not to waver from you. Create in me a pure heart O God, and renew a steadfast Spirit within me. Lord, thank you for helping me with my temper, and mold me into the woman of God that you created me to be.
